ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Ashley, and I'm a Halifax Wedding Photographer! I'm also a dog-lover, wife, aspiring traveler, sunset chaser, and lover of candid, real, adventurous, passionate, beautiful moments.

Here’s a bit of a description of my life. If I’m going to document an important moment or day in your life, gotta make sure we’ll get along right?

Me, doing the not as glamorous side of photography - editing. Though for me personally, I usually really enjoy it!

I’m a half-Filipina, Christian, Canadian-born, pretty average height, pretty introverted girl. I’m not the type to talk like crazy - I really value those quiet moments. (Although if you throw a good dance party at your wedding… I’m there) I’ve called the beautiful country of Canada home my entire life, and genuinely love that about myself (though I do want some more travelling in my liiiifffee haha).

To start off, I’m a wife to a beautiful human named Jesse Radford who I married at 19 years old (+ he was 21) in June 2018, and you could say I’m kinda (VERY) head over heels for him. He’s my rock. We were long distance our entire dating relationship, meaning that plane rides were where ever spare dollar I had went to, without even a second of question. When you love someone enough, it’s worth it, and I definitely did and do. Jesse is my other half and I don’t know what I’d do without him. You’ll most likely meet him, because he drives me everywhere and carries stuff that I can’t. He’s the bomb. We listen to Halifax’s radio station The Wave on the way to and back from photo things, and will most likely end up dancing (badly) to Michael Jackson or any Queen song.

Another newer addition to the family is this dude. Our Rhodesian Ridgeback, named Duma.

I’m kind of (VERY) obsessed with him. If you love dogs, I think you should just go right ahead and hit that contact link because I know we’ll hit it off.

Anyway, I wrote all of this down because I want to connect with you. On your wedding day or portrait session, I don’t just see you as a client. I genuinely want to be friends with you, because when I put my camera in front of you, I’m thinking about who you are, I’m thinking about your future grandchildren looking at the photo, I’m thinking about how nervous I would be if I were you, and I’m thinking about how valuable every second I have in front of you is. I don’t walk away from sessions or weddings thinking that I finished a job. I leave thinking about the connection we made, and the pieces of evidence that I get to hold in my hand that say that you lived, loved, laughed, had feelings, had experiences - felt happiness, sadness, fear, excitement. A photo to me tells your story, and I come to photography with that in mind.

I have experienced love, happiness, fear, excitement, downfall, and successes. I know you have to. I’m so thankful for every person that takes the leap to document themselves, because it isn’t always so easy to put yourself first like that. Your life deserves documentation. Your feelings deserve to be captured. You are important enough.
