I’m based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I go to Toronto quite frequently to visit friends and family, so I consider it to be my second base, and do not charge extra if your date is while I am there! If you’re outside Halifax, reach out and inquire about my travel rates! (I’d love to come to you!)

What should I wear?
Wear what makes you feel you. I always recommend neutral colours (tan, black, white, brown, light pink, baby blue, burgundy, etc), as well as colours that compliment each other. If you are having more than one person in the session, it's best to keep colours complimentary, but not the same. I also recommend avoiding logos/wording on your clothing, as they can affect the timeless-ness of the photos.
Wear clothes that don't hinder movement too much, but still compliment your shape! I pride myself on having fun in my photo sessions - I love to have you walking from place-to-place, sitting, standing, and just enjoying the environment around us. It is important that you feel comfortable for that.
But those are just guidelines, the more you that you feel the better.
My partner doesn’t like photos, is that okay?
It’s absolutely okay!! I love working with people and making sessions fun! I don’t like to be too posey because I want your shoot to be an experience. I want you to remember it as a fun time! I promise you, your comfort is so important to me.
if you haven’t shot at my venue before, does that matter?
If I haven’t shot there before, I show up at least an hour before to scout and make sure I know what I’m working with. Since I bounce between provinces, I go to new venues all the time. I love experiencing new places, it brings a new element to the way I shoot and it’s just the best.
What's your story? Why did you become a photographer?
I absolutely love people and their emotions. I’ve also always had this crazy fear of losing time and wasting time – photography has always been a therapeutic way of dealing with that. I have been doing photography since I was 14, learning with film in high school, developing it myself, and falling in love with the process of seeing my memories show up in physical form in an image. Being a professional photographer gives me the privilege to give other people that joy and peace.
I started doing photography professionally in May 2017, and have loved every second of it.
What kind of equipment do you use?
Equipment definitely doesn't make the photographer. However, I have a love for Canon cameras and equipment, so I work mainly with a Canon 5D mark iv, Canon 5D mark ii and various Sigma and Canon lenses. I always have backups on backups too: So many batteries and memory cards, and a couple flashes for when the night comes!
How important is Photoshop to you?
I use Photoshop Lightroom Classic to bring back the life to photos that I saw when we were taking them. It's so easy to get carried away with Photoshop, changing objects and bodies, but I prefer to keep it as real to the moment as possible. The only change I make is skin retouching to portraits, unless you ask me not to. I will only change shapes or add/remove things at your request!
When should I book?
For normal photo sessions, a 2-3 weeks ahead is totally fine, but it's never too early to book. We will probably decide an exact time of day about a week before the session, to guarantee the best conditions.
For weddings, I recommend at least a couple months ahead, around 8-12 months ahead gives you a better chance at me being available. That being said, don't be afraid to contact me about a wedding that is even a week or two away, we might get lucky!
If you’re looking to have your photos done by a certain date, I recommend doing your session about a month or so before as my turnaround time is usually 4-5 weeks, and 10 weeks for weddings.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept payment through Interac E-Transfer, cash, and credit through an invoicing system. All fees on my website are listed in CAD.
